Google music app stops downloading

By refreshing the Library, you should overcome some minor playback bugs. Another step you can try is clearing the cache from the app. You can also clear the data, but this will delete all downloaded and cached songs. Keep that in mind before clearing the data. Moving on, you need to ensure that there are no connection issues.

This, of course, applies only if Google Play Music keeps stopping while you stream music instead of listening to local tracks. You can usually do that within the app system settings. Many users suggested that the best solution for the problem is to simply reinstall the app and move from there. The next simple check is to ensure that neither you nor somebody with access to your account is trying to use Google Play Music on another device. The third thing is also simple: are you using the correct account?

You need to be using the same account you used to upload your music or to buy your music. Click Enable to turn it on. Still no joy? Privacy protecting or ad-blocking plugins can be particularly bad for it, because their blocking can sometimes be a little overzealous.

Google Play Music supports libraries with up to 50, songs. Do you really need all those David Hasselhoff b-sides? Is there anything more frustrating than having loads of songs and playlists in Google Play Music but not being able to get them on your device? If not, a factory reset and then starting again from scratch can help. Did you transfer your Play Music settings from another phone?

If you did, try deauthorizing the old phone, deleting the app data from your current phone and then signing into Google Play Music on your current phone. Have you encountered other issues with Google Play Music?

Did you find a solution? Let us know below. Often when I sync an album on my laptop to Google Play Music on my Samsung Galaxy phone, song 1 ends up in a different music folder and the proper folder has all the other songs starting from 2.

When I look at the folders on my cell from the laptop, everything looks ok, but it's still messed up on the cell. There's no way to move individual songs around to where they should be. Very annoying. Not uploading music from phone to computer correctly some do some dont.

Same format. Sounds like chipmunk speed when played. I play music from my own library on an SD card. How do I fix? Very annoying issue Google for some reason wont add it because it knows I already have Home on there. VERY annoying. The only way I can get it to show up as the same song in a different album is if I re-encode it. Not sure what Google is seeing in the file to not allow it to uplaod again since its technically a same song but a different album. Not a fan. It works, no big problem but still not too enthusiastic about it.

It is a bit vanilla. If you have gone past that, your only option will be to delete some other tracks to make room for new ones. Some users get an error message asking them to log in to Google Chrome when using the web-based Music Manager, even if they are already logged in.

Simply logging out and logging back in to Chrome seems to do the trick here. Problem 5 — Downloaded stations are not playing. Even though the point of downloaded stations is to play music offline, even having this feature enabled seems to stop downloaded stations from playing if not on Wi-Fi. You can also turn on the option again once the station you have downloaded starts playing. Reporting this issue helped the last time around, so make sure that you submit a bug report. A future update should hopefully resolve this problem once again.

Problem 6 — 2-Factor authentication causing problems with logging in to the Music Manager. Both seem to work. However, keep in mind that multiple attempts may be required with both before it does work. Before going through the step above, you may also have to add your credit card information to your Google account.

Doing this seems to do the trick for most users. Problem 7 — Issues where the only option is to wait for an official update. Music will not sync to the phone — Quite a few users have found that music that has been uploaded to Google Play Music from a computer does not sync with the phone.

Cannot use Google Play Music and Youtube Red at the same time — Users have found that when using the same account, they cannot use Google Play Music and Youtube Red, even on different devices, at the same time. The official word is that there is a streaming limit, and that users can only stream from one service at a time. The only option here is to continue to send feedback to Google and hopefully this is something that will be addressed in the future.

Chromecast issues — While there have been multiple updates to address casting issues, some users are still facing problems when it comes to using Google Play Music with Chromecast.
