I ordered a Galaxy watch for my gf and it came yesterday. After we got it setup with her phone we noticed text messages were not coming through to it and there was no messaging app. We searched all of the apps and cant find one to install. Why is this? Is it cause she has a Huawei P20 and not a Samsung phone? Go to Solution. View solution in context. Does anyone know of a way to use Android Messages on the watch? The watch keeps telling me I have to use Samsung Messages to be able to retreive them.
I get notifications and can see the messages I sent, but I can't look at the "history" of Android Messages. Anyway to fix this? I tried Flow and it's not ready for primetime.
Go to Solution. I was searching all over for the same thing, and gave up and went to Samsung Messages. Go into the "Wear" app. Enable notifications on "android messages". However, to text you need to go through the "contacts" app on the watch.
I haven't decided if it's worth it yet. I like Android messages because I have crappy service in my office. Everything works good, i tried to turn off bluetooth and WiFi on my phone and - all okay, i get calls and sms to my watch.
Girl in store told me to put aplications in my watch, but in app store there is no applictions like Whatsapp and FB. So that means, taht everytime that my phone and watch gets disconected, i cant receive messages. Mobile data is on on my watch. I bought the watch to leave phone home and because of such policies by NOT providing native apps I am cut off from major messenger services.
Nowhere is that clearly communicated. Hi spoke to samsung he said he hasn't heard of it before and basically just done a reset on the watch. Have to wait to see if anything changes today and if not have to call them back tomorrow.
Sorry there is no fix its driving me nuts too!!! They were about as much use as a chocolate teapot tbh, I'm just going to go to the Samsung shop next weekend.
